Care cuts hit most vulnerable

Hampshire Liberal Democrats have slammed huge cuts in vital care services. Conservatives who run Hampshire County Council plan to axe a range of services for older and vulnerable people to plug a huge gap in their budget.

Liberal Democrat spokesman Councillor Alan Dowden walked out of a meeting of senior councillors when the Conservative leadership refused to let him speak on the issue. Lib Dem leader Adrian Collett said people were right to be angry and that the issue was 'like a volcano waiting to erupt.
