Oaten's army triumphs in Oliver's Battery

Winchester Liberal Democrats have comfortably held Oliver's Battery ward in a by-election for the City Council.

The result of the election held on 29th September was:

David Spender (Lib Dem) 853

Conservative 584

Labour 46

Turnout 46.1%

The by-election was caused by the resignation of the sitting Lib Dem councillor.
