Hampshire Conservatives rejected Lib Dem plans to boost road repair spending

Conservative Councillors have missed the chance to invest an extra £1million in repairing local roads and pavements.

Liberal Democrats on Hampshire County Council proposed spending an extra £1million to help clear the enormous back-log of repairs to the County's roads and pavements.

But the ruling Conservatives rejected the move.

Years of cuts when the Conservatives were in Government have created this problem.

They had an opportunity to help sort it out but missed it.

Under Liberal Democrat plans, funding would have come in part from cutting what the Council spends on 'spin' and consultants.
