Library cuts threatened

2.18.29pm GMT Thu 13th Jan 2005

Hampshire Conservatives plan to cut the number of traditional mobile library vehicles by a quarter.

A review of all mobile library routes is also planned by the County Council.

Liberal Democrats fear that some routes and stops may be reduced or scrapped altogether.

Mobile libraries provide a valuable service to rural areas and many towns suburbs as well.

Hampshire Liberal Democrats believe the County Council should be expanding its mobile library service, not cutting it back.
